You Can’t Beat the Oxbow! For both locals and tourists alike, the Oxbow Public Market on First St. is a gem! There’s food, wine, cheese, beer, oysters, sushi, coffee, meats, fresh produce, and the list goes on. Although dog’s aren’t allowed inside the Oxbow Marketplace, you can still bring your dog with you and enjoy two different patio spaces that are connected. Another plus, is that there are two large grassy areas right next to the Oxbow. My dog and I like to go there to play in the grass and watch the cutest little duck couple (yes, there are two ducks that love each other and live there) waddle around. Sometimes I set up a little blanket with a Model Bakery breakfast sandwich and a Ritual Coffee or fresh juice from Hudson Greens in hand and catch up on some reading material. The possibilities are endless and always oh so satisfying. So, next time you’re wondering what you and your dog should do after work or are visiting Napa with Fido and want to go on a nice walk, head over to the Oxbow and reward yourself with a beer from Fieldwork Brewing Company (one of my favorite breweries), or a ½ dozen of freshly shucked Hog Island Oysters. You won’t regret it.

Pro tip: If you want to beat and/or avoid the crowds, the best time to go is on weekdays or before 11am/after 4pm on the weekends. Hours: (9am-7pm with some vendor exceptions).
